 FAQs

  • Do I need a referral from an MD to see a Chiropractor or Naturopathic Doctor?
No. Chiropractors and Naturopathic Doctors are legislated in every province in Canada to be primary contact health professionals. This means that patients can consult with Chiropractors and Naturopathic Doctors without prior consultation with an MD.
  • Do I need a referral to see a Registered Massage Therapist or Kinesiologist?
No. You do not need a referral to see a Registered Massage Therapist or Athletic Therapist. However, RMT's and AT's work closely with Chiropractors, Physiotherapists and Medical Doctors who often refer to them to facilitate optimal patient care.
  • What do I need to bring with me to my appointment?
Please bring your completed intake forms (see forms page). We generally have direct access to x-ray, CT Scan or MRI images and reports through VIHA and West Coast Medical Imaging. If you had these taken in another region please bring this to your appointment. Please bring any pertinent lab results.
  • What to wear to your appointment?
During your appointment, you will undergo physical examination tests that will require you to move in various ways. As such, it is most beneficial to bring comfortable clothing you can move in. For example, shorts and t-shirt or tank-top.
  • Are your services covered by Insurance or Extended Health Benefits?
Often yes, sometimes no. Extended Health Benefits coverage varies by the provider and the company providing the plan. Chiropractors, Naturopathic Doctors and Massage Therapists are generally covered to a certain degree - please check with your insurance provider.
  • Do we direct bill extended health benefits?
Yes. We offer direct billing for most insurance providers including: Great West Life, Blue Cross....
  • Do we accept ICBC claims?
Yes. Our Chiropractors can accept claims for ICBC and you do not need a prior evaluation or referral from an MD. You can start treatment as soon as you submit a claim and receive an ICBC claim number, and as long as you have not already consulted with another Chiropractor for this claim you are pre-approved and partially covered.
  • Do we accept Worksafe claims?
Yes. Our Chiropractors accept Worksafe claims and you do not need a prior evaluation or referral from an MD. Worksafe pays your Chiropractor directly. You will need to submit a WorksafeBC claim to your employer and submit your claim number to our office staff. After that, you are generally pre-approved and covered for up to 8 weeks.
